Fame

You might find fame as a loan officer, but if you do it'll probably be as a pariah. If you're what they call corrupt and you get caught up in some kind of fraud or embezzlement scheme, or outright theft of funds, you'll absolutely make headlines—just not in the way you'd want to.

If you do an awesome job for your clients, the kind of fame you get will be a more subdued, local kind of fame. You'll get referrals and will maybe even be mentioned in the move-in announcement that the new home owners make to their families and friends. After all, nothing says thanks like a shout-out in a chain email.
