Typical Day

Bob starts his day at 6:00AM. He dons a freshly-pressed uniform, complete with a shiny badge. He reports to work at Springfield Mall by 7:00AM and, after reviewing the night shift's report, he brushes the English muffin crumbs from his shirt, grabs his Segway, and heads out.

Bob doesn't carry a gun, since malls don't tend to have a lot of violent crime but do tend to be filled with kids. Also because no one will give him one. He's armed with pepper spray, a Taser, a set of handcuffs, and his own canny instincts. Plus his upgraded Segway. It has a cup holder now, so he can take his caramel swirl frappuccino with him on patrol.

Bob peruses the corridors, splitting his time between high-dollar areas (upscale department stores, jewelry, etc.) and, purely for security reasons of course, the food court (Mrs. Field's, Chick-fil-A, etc.).

Bob notices two teenage boys who entered the mall together promptly split up after entering an electronics store. Bob moves in. They each keep passing the cell phone section, he notices. Suddenly one of them knocks over an end cap full of DVDs. During the distraction, the second thief clips the wires holding three smart phones in place and pockets them.

Before he can make his getaway, however, he's nabbed by a Segway-riding man who quickly confiscates the stolen merchandise, cuffs both would-be robbers, and notifies the police. Another day saved by Bob.
