Odds of Hanging On

Odds of Hanging On

Successful hanging on generally depends on more than one factor. In this case, your continued employment might partially depend on continued funding from the budget masters. However, if you work for a large agency with multiple departments, you may be able to transfer to another office with better budget prospects.

If that's not an option, you could find yourself scouring the job websites. Keep in mind, though, that your narrowly-focused skills might make it difficult to find a professional job outside the helping professions.

Of course, you'll need to take care of yourself so you can continue to hang on, er, serve your clients. Instead of vegging out in front of the TV at night, hit the gym and burn some calories. Take some time for a massage, a long walk or two, or some meditation time. Think of yourself as a much-appreciated client you want to keep seeing for a long, long time.
