Odds of Hanging On
As long as there are things to be counted, tested, tabulated, analyzed, and modeled, there will be jobs for statisticians. When you're someone who's able to develop, evaluate, and analyze useful surveys, who knows how to develop software used for modeling or graphic analysis, and who's comfortable processing large amounts of data and have it make sense to people who aren't comfortable doing the math…there will always be a job for you.
