Ender's Game

Ender's Game

by Orson Scott Card

General Levy

Character Analysis

Levy is the Strategos – not the board game, that’s Stratego. That means he’s in charge of the defense of Earth. Which means that he’s quite interested in Ender. He shows up to tell Graff not to hurt Ender more than necessary (7.14) and sends a letter awarding Val a medal for her work in getting Ender to fight. He refers to himself in the third person, so maybe it’s a good thing that he’s not in this book much. But the fact that he has a weird military title reminds us that we’re in the future.
