ECB Announcement

Hear ye, hear ye...there’s a new ECB Announcement in the land!

An ECB Announcement is the announcement from the European Central Bank that they make when they decide to shake things up a bit (and by “things” we mean “monetary policy,” as central banks do).

ECB Announcements are a key part of implementing monetary policy. After all, what’s the use of a change in monetary policy if nobody knows about it? The ECB communicates what they’re up to in this official manner to let the public know what’s up, and to explain why they’re doing what they’re doing. Like most central banks, the ECB tries to keep inflation (and therefore prices) stable, which is a balancing act with the unemployment rate.
