Marketing Plan

See: Marketing Mix.

You're that big fat Hollywood producer. You're bugging the marketing department at the studio, which is waiting to release the film you just took two years to produce: Ode to a Naughty Sink Faucet.

You want to know their marketing plan. What's the budget? If the movie cost $50 million to make, and the studio likes it, a budget of $20 million or so to market it ain't crazy. So...where is that money gonna be spent? Newspapers? Not a penny. Radio? A penny. Television. Maybe $5 million. Billboards? Maybe $3 million. Internetty things, and mobile? Maybe $9 million. Maybe the rest is spent on parties for press people and others who then write about your movie for free. That's the plan, anyway.
