"Thou shalt have only light pedophillic child abuse at this mission." Unfortunately, not many missionaries listened to God's directive there. At least they're being brought to court now.
Less darkly, a mission statement for a corporation basically lays out what its plan is. At Shmoop, it runs something like: to make the world a better place by making learning fun. For extremely low prices, we bring courses, test prep, college admissions, and career advice to the masses.
That's our mission, anyway. How we doin'?
