Strange bedfellows Why Should I Care

Why Should I Care?

When the storm hits, Trinculo is scared out of his mind. He doesn't just have the willies. He's freaked out enough to jump under another guy's, er, creature's coat for comfort. At first, he's not really sure who or what Caliban is, and he even tells us that because he's so miserable, he's stuck with a weirdo.

Here's the thing: Trinculo ends up partnering with Caliban and the King's butler, Stefano to take down Prospero. Now we're not exactly condoning their actions (even though Prospero does have too much power if we may say so), but we are saying that sometimes hanging out with someone you'd never typically spend time with is a good thing.

Trinculo finds an unlikely friend in Caliban, which he wouldn't have if he went on his initial judgment of the guy being strange. Let's just put it this way: sometimes, first impressions aren't always the best. After all, a strange bedfellow might be just what you need.
