The Miller's portrait is the eighteenth in the General Prologue.
After the Knight's tale, the Miller interrupts the Host's proposed order of tale-tellers by demanding to go before the Monk.
The Miller is the second to tell his tale, after the Knight and before the Reeve.
With his tale, the Miller insults the Reeve, who then constructs a tale for the express purpose of "quiting" the Miller's tale.
