Eldric

Eldric's role as Briony's romantic interest is about more than just rapid heartbeats and swoon worthy moments, though he's certainly capable of causing both of those. More importantly, though, is that his love allows Briony to start loving herself. Through his love, Briony is literally saved from the emotional damage that her evil stepmother has done.
