Cyrano de Bergerac

Okay, we know he’s the title character and you probably don’t take much convincing at this point. But let’s dig a little deeper. Rostand builds up Cyrano’s entrance with the comments of his friends, Lignière, Le Bret, and Ragueneau.

By the time we actually meet this guy, we’ve got some pretty high expectations. Cyrano’s entrance doesn’t let us down in the least. He enters as commanding voice—an alpha male, a hero, and an obvious protagonist.
