Character Role Analysis

Atticus Finch

To be more specific, Atticus's presumed hypocrisy is the antagonist here. Atticus himself remains fairly civil and non-antagonistic in his argument with Jean Louise. She is the angry one, the accuser, and the attacker. He stoically accepts it, and deflects her argument. It's like a cartoon where a small character attacks a large one, and the large one just holds the small one at arm's length while the little guy flails helplessly.
