Get out the microscope, because we’re going through this poem line-by-line.

Lines 464-474

She cried, "Laura," up the garden,
"Did you miss me?
Come and kiss me.
Never mind my bruises,
Hug me, kiss me, suck my juices
Squeez'd from goblin fruits for you,
Goblin pulp and goblin dew.
Eat me, drink me, love me;
Laura, make much of me;
For your sake I have braved the glen
And had to do with goblin merchant men."

  • As soon as Lizzie enters the gate of their garden, she calls out to Laura.
  • Lizzie invites her sister to come and lick up all the goblin fruit juice off of her.
  • Of course, the way that she puts it ("hug me, kiss me, suck my juices") is almost ludicrously erotic. So go ahead and laugh.
  • Lizzie tells Laura that her little adventure with the goblin men was all for Laura's sake.
