Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Scene 9 Summary

  • Harry thinks this whole thing is all really suspicious. Why couldn't they get onto the Hogwarts Express? Someone really doesn't want him at Hogwarts.
  • Well, soon they might not be at Hogwarts because flying a car to school and getting spotted by Muggles is pretty serious, Mr. Filch tells Harry and Ron as they try to sneak into the Great Hall.
  • The boys get sent to Professor Snape's office where he reads them the riot act. They are in so much trouble. This is grounds for expulsion. Just wait until Professor Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall get here.
  • Okay, turns out Harry and Ron aren't in that much trouble. Despite that fact that they have actually broken wizarding law, Professor McGonagall decides that detention and a strongly-worded letter home will do as punishment.
  • We really think Professor Snape was hoping they'd be boiled in oil or something.
