Okay, so we're not going to amaze you with our insight on this one, but here goes anyway: the protagonist in Hatchet is—you guessed it—Brian. Besides the fact that he's pretty much the only character in the book, Brian's the one whose hopes, fears, and struggles we're following the whole time. It's definitely his story we're reading here, and his success we're rooting for, so he's our protagonist—pretty simple, huh?
