Exactly how steamy is this poem?

Considering it's a love poem, you'd expect "The Husband's Message" to be at least a little bit steamy, right? Maybe something about how hot the lady is, or how the lord wants to take her in his arms and kiss her? No such luck. The lord seems to be thinking of the lady less as a lover than a political partner, someone to act as his regal consort as he goes about the business of ruling his subjects. Sex just doesn't enter the picture.
