How It All Goes Down
- Tobias is interrogated. All sorts of family secrets come out. Tris acts like they're scandalous and dirty, but nothing really seems all that shocking to us.
- Tobias does reveal that he is Divergent, however. Le gasp!
- Tobias goes on saying that he was planning to leave Dauntless, but he stayed because of Tris.
- Now it's Tris's turn for the truth serum. She wonders if she's Divergent enough to fight it.
- The answer is yes. We think. Tris tells us that she fights the serum and wins, but she decides to confess the truth anyway: she reveals that she shot Will.
- "I feel pain in my stomach so intense that I almost groan" (12.154). Is it guilt, or just all those beans Tris ate the other night?
