Ivanhoe Steaminess Rating

Exactly how steamy is this story?

PG

Ivanhoe is a family novel written in 1819, so you've come to the wrong place if you want to see people take their clothes off. There is some mention of sexual content (Bois-Guilbert's efforts to seduce Rebecca, for example), but nothing actually happens, either on or off the page. Rowena and Rebecca both seem so shocked at having to remove their veils (see "Symbols, Imagery, Allegory" on "The Veil") that we get the sense they would be less than comfortable in more explicit love scenes.
