Exactly how steamy is this story?

While not as steamy as your average Blanche-centric episode of Golden Girls, Major Pettigrew's Last Stand has one steamy love scene between its two protagonists. They may be old, but they're not dead yet. Mrs. Ali has none of that first-time awkwardness, either: she bluntly says to the Major, "I was wondering whether it might be best if you just made love to me now, here" (22.61). So he does. The scene quickly fades to black and resumes with the two in bed wearing much less clothing.
Earlier, Grace had told the Major that a "passionate spark" (20.38) was necessary in any marriage. Well, here's your passionate spark. We're just glad they didn't start a forest fire.
