Whether Giant John is throwing a frog at Maniac or Papa McNab is drunkenly stumbling around the cement bunker in his living room, the McNab family gets in Maniac's way. Even Russell and Piper interfere with Maniac wallowing in his own self-pity at Valley Forge. The McNabs are everything Maniac does not want from a family, but he finds himself drawn back to them repeatedly.
