- Maniac has to get Russell and Piper through the whole rest of the school year, so he can't really take a break with the heroic feats.
- He runs through the dump, races the freight train, sticks his arm in the mystery hole by the creek, kisses the baby buffalo (he doesn't tell the boys that he and the baby buffalo are already best buds).
- One day, Russell and Piper dare Maniac to do the scariest thing they can think of: go into the East End.
