Mr. Springer

Character Analysis

Rabbit considers Mr. Springer, his father-in-law, a bully and part of the trap. It’s not clear what Mr. Springer has done to make Janice feel disapproval, but he admits he’s guilty of doing it. He always lets Rabbit come back to the car lot, no matter what, even after the baby’s death. He blames Rabbit but just wants all the scandal to die down. He is the closest thing to a stereotype in the novel, in his role as used car salesman.
