Mr. Lema

While lots of folks ignore Francisco or choose not to help him when he tries to learn English, Mr. Lema hops on the mentoring bandwagon and drives it with gusto. He shows Francisco the ropes at school, not just with English but also in his whole attitude toward learning. It's seriously cool of him, and it has a huge impact on our main man's life. He does a lot better in school after his month with Mr. Lema, so even though this teacher doesn't get much time with Francisco, we know just how important he really is.
