Bradbury used the automated house in several other stories, such as in "There Will Come Soft Rains" (in The Martian Chronicles), where the house is really the only character; and in "The Murderer," where a man destroys his gadgets to gain some peace and quiet. Oh, if only George had read that one.
Bradbury adapted "The Veldt" as a stage play. (It was published in 1972 in The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit and Other Plays.
Bradbury didn't love television (see Fahrenheit 451 for more TV-hate), but in the 1950s, he had a family to support so he sold some stories to TV producers. But he didn't own a TV, so he couldn't see his own shows. (Source.)
