  • Lori gets all super defensive, as you might if the man you slept with when you thought your husband was dead punched your husband.
  • Shane runs off into the woods, and Rick follows him. Lori's so busy crying about her poor, sad life that she doesn't notice her son go after them.
  • In the middle of the woods, Shane pulls his gun on Rick.
  • He's so angry, he has tears and snot pouring out of his face. "I've got nothing, Rick!! No friends! No family!! No respect!!" (743).
  • Like Rodney Dangerfield with a gun.
  • He says that everything was perfect until Rick came back, so Rick wasn't meant to live.
  • He aims the gun at Rick when… "BLAM!" (752). Carl shoots Shane in the neck.
  • Shane does his best zombie impression, "Gak! Guk!" (754) and dies.
  • Carl cries. "It's not the same as killing the dead ones, daddy" (760).
  • Rick holds him. "It never should be, son. It never should be" (761).
