Appetite for Destruction Reissue Album Cover

After the original cover proved to be too controversial, this one, based on a tattoo that Axl has on his wrist, was sent to the press instead.

The Band

Left to right: Izzy Stradlin, Steven Adler, Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan.

The Logo

This logo, designed by Slash himself, has stuck around for the past twenty years on the shirts of teenage boys everywhere.

Rolling Stone Cover

The band finally got big public attention in 1988.

The Band Gets Bigger

Only a few years after GNR dropped Appetite, they kicked out drummer Adler, got Matt Sorum from The Cult, and added keyboardist Dizzy Reed.

Axl Rose Circa 1987

Here is Axl Rose, hair floofed up with what we can only hope is hairspray.

A Match Made in Heaven

Say what you will about crotchless chaps, it won't change that Axl and Slash were an iconic team during GNR's reign as biggest band in the world.

Slash

Slash hasn't changed at all over the years, though he now has his own line of Les Paul guitars.

Appetite for Destruction Cover

This is the original album cover, based on Robert William's painting "Appetite for Destruction." This cover was eventually replaced.
