- The townsfolk are surprised when Maggie returns, pulled in a cart by Brand, another one of the Bradfords' servants.
- Maggie and Brand went to another village for help and were assaulted by residents there who were afraid of the plague.
- Mr. Mompellion decides to take care of Maggie at the rectory. Anna heads to the Miner's Tavern to see if anyone can help out.
- Anna's dad is there, drunk as all get-out. She asks for his help, and he scoffs. This really ticks her off, as her dad used to physically abuse her when she was younger.
- This argument doesn't end up mattering, however—Maggie dies that night.
