If you're coming here from somewhere else, and you have a vehicle that was registered in another state, you'll need to get it registered here if you plan on becoming a resident.

To register an out-of-state vehicle in Massachusetts, you'll need:

1. a completed and signed Application for Title and Application for Registration.
2. out-of-state title or registration card.
3. proof of insurance.
4. proof of address and identity.
5. whatever RMV fees are required.

After your vehicle is registered, you'll have seven days to get it inspected. Get all of that taken care of and you're officially a Massachusetts driver. Good luck out there—you're going to need it.
