Identification (ID) Card
If you’re not quite ready, old enough, or in the market for a driver’s license but would still like to be able to prove to people that you exist, you can apply for a state-issued ID card. To get one of these bad boys, you must present your social security number and an official document showing your birth date to the DMV. Once you receive your card, it will be valid for six years (unless you are 60 or over, in which case it won’t expire until you do). You’ve heard how we’re basically different people every seven years? Well, just think of it this way: you’ll need a new identification card to accompany your new identity.
