If you’re not quite ready, old enough, or in the market for a driver’s license but would still like to be able to prove to people that you exist, you can apply for a state-issued ID card. To get one of these bad boys, you need to present your social security number and an official document showing your birth date to the DOL, as well as $20 for the fee. You know who you are, and we know who you are, but it apparently costs $20 for the state of Washington to acknowledge that they know who you are.
