Aggregate Function

You probably aggregate function all the time and don't even know it. (And no, it's not a bodily one.) The term represents a fancy way to describe ways that individual data points are combined, measured, and analyzed.

Basically, it's taking a mathematical formula and applying it to a set of items in a data set, rather than to just one item. These calculations can include things like figuring out the average for a set of numbers, or the median, or the sum, or all of the other countless things you can do in a spreadsheet.

Use an Excel sheet to tally your gambling losses? You're aggregate functioning. Use a spreadsheet to find out the average number of times you swipe right on Tinder before getting a match? You're aggregate functioning. It's the hobby you never knew you had.
