Commercial Lines Insurance Pricing Survey - CLIPS
Categories: Insurance
You know how there's sports data that tells you every detail of every game? Things like...who's thrown the most sliders since 2015...or who has the highest field-goal percentage for corner threes in the fourth quarter in NBA playoff history?
Well, there's something even nerdier than advanced sports stats: insurance pricing statistics.
The Commercial Lines Insurance Pricing Survey provides data on prices for commercial insurance (meaning insurance for business clients; See: Commercial Lines Insurance). These figures are put out by the advisory firm Willis Towers Watson, with data running back to 2003 (the survey itself has been published since 2005).
CLIPS compiles prices for over two dozen insurance companies, covering property and casualty insurance. The survey is meant to track price changes in the industry, and by extension, give a sense of the health of the sector.
