Google Blogger
We’re not trying to brag or anything, but we created a pretty epic blog about the feral cats in our neighborhood. Every day, we profile what the ‘hood cats eat and drink and how they spend their hours, and then once a month we do a special profile on a cat who’s gone above and beyond. It’s a huge success; last week, we had almost fifty readers, and only one of them made a derogatory comment questioning the value of our blog’s contribution to society.
Anyway, one of the greatest things about our blog is that we publish it for free via Google Blogger, a platform created to make it easy for creative geniuses like us to write, design, upload, and manage our blog. We can use it from home or on one of our mobile devices, and once Suburban Kitty Savages takes off, we might even be able to make some coin by letting advertisers post ads on our site.
Blogger was developed in the ‘90s and acquired by Google in ’03; even though it's free to use, it does offer some paid enhancements like custom domain names. We’re not into all that fancy nonsense—yet—but we do love that it integrates with our Gmail account and offers analytics tools so we can keep tabbies—er, tabs—on our ever-growing fan base.
