Liar's Poker

Categories: Education

Awesome book. All about the ins 'n' outs of trading in the late 1980s at the now-defunct Salomon Brothers. Author: Michael Lewis, divorced like 18 times. Wrote Wolf of Wall Street and Moneyball. Read the book though. Equities in Dallas.

Where does the term come from though? There's a game...for those with no Monopoly or Trivial Pursuit in their closet, but a few dollar bills in their wallet. The idea of the game is to make a bid that may-or-may-not exceed the total of the numbers in your serial number. And your opponent has to figure out if you're...full of it or not. A good way to make the most out of your singles.
