Ma and Pa Shop is an old colloquial (that's slang that you can use in polite company) term people use for small, independently owned stores. These are stores not owned by a mega-mart chain. In movies you usually see an older couple (ma and pa) operating a cramped store with mismatched shelves that has everything in it, buuuuut Ma and Pa are about the only people who can find it.
