Member Month

Categories: Metrics

You’ve got man hours and dog days...and you’ve also got member months.

Since most insurance plans charge on a monthly basis, the revenue that a plan draws can be measured by the number of patients per month. The total value of a company's portfolio of policies gets reported as member months.

You can compute the figure by multiplying the number of people enrolled in a particular plan by the total number included in that contract.

Number of members x number of months = your member months.
