Yes, there's a market for money. Short-term. Safe. Bonds soon to mature. Low yields, low risk, high liquidity...meaning that money invested in a money market fund can be turned into cash really fast. Like...hours or days at most.

So the yield of that MMF is usually not a lot higher than the safest equivalent government bond paper.
