Near Term - NT

Soon. Less than a year. Maybe less than a month.

The term comes up a lot when bills are due. And it comes up in money market funds. See: Commercial Paper.

Bonds bought for those funds come due and pay off their principal in the near-term...the next few months. So the paper is usually pre-funded, i.e. very low risk that it won't pay off and everyone will go boringly along. At least in the near-term.
