Net Income - NI

See: Earnings.

Net income is the earnings of a company after taxes. (But before dividends.) It's sometimes called "the bottom line." It draws fame from being the "E" in EPS, or Earnings Per Share. Net Income is usually applied to the total net income of a company. If you want the per share number, you have to divide by the number of shares outstanding.
