Non-Profit Organization

Categories: Incorporation

See: Not for Profit.

A non-profit (intentionally so, that is) is a charity. It's an org set up to do good things for people who are both good and bad. The Red Cross. The American Cancer Institute. The NCAA. Which, yes, is actually a non-profit.

Non-profits have special dispensation to receive donations. The donors get to take those donations directly off of their tax obligations in most places. So it's not solely about doing good.

Note that this is a very different Thing than an org which prohibits the membership of Paul, John, Moses, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and Bezos. That'd be a non-prophet org, and is just a different Thing altogether.
