The Global Dow

The Global Dow is a stock index that tracks the stocks of 150 top global companies, which are equally weighted and selected by Dow Jones editors. It’s meant to be a relatively accurate take on the global stock market in the present and future, including both developed and emerging markets. Naturally, it includes big blue-chip boys like Coca-Cola, Amazon, 3M, Kraft, Monsanto, and General Electric.

If you’re thinking Is this the same thing as the Dow Jones Industrial Average that I’m always hearing about?, the answer is no, but it it similar. The Global Dow is the worldwide version while the Dow Jones Industrial Average (commonly known as just “the Dow”) only represents the U.S.
