"Across the Pacific." It's a generic notion, almost reductive. But Trans-Pacific partnerships in the modern era have usually revolved around business deals between San Francisco and Beijing, or San Francisco and Tokyo. Lots of tech being lobbied back and forth. Lots of risks in dealing with foreign partners. Currency issues as well.
And Chinese food, which, in Beijing, they just call "food."
