When in doubt, and you find a software hack, i.e. someone has tunneled into the database carrying the financial information of all of your customers...and you'd have sworn it was totally safe...well, then you've been attacked. And on the day you've discovered such violation of your perimeter, that is Day Zero...you just learned about the hack today.
