Zero Layoff Policy

Categories: Company Management

Does your company have a “zero layoff policy,” a.k.a. a “no layoff policy”? What a lucky duck. That means that, when the economy is nursing a hangover and everyone around you is worried about losing their jobs...you’re not. Because you’re covered by the zero layoff policy. Phew.

Don’t get too comfortable though. If you do a poor job at work, or raise ethical questions (no stealing from the fridge), then you could still be laid off. Zero layoff policies apply to external economic factors that aren’t in anyone’s control, like recessions. So get your feet off your desk and get cracking, because if a company is bleeding money from something like a recession, they might be looking for ways to cut the fat via poor performance.
