Context

This line was spoken by Kip Dynamite (played by Aaron Ruell) in Napoleon Dynamite (2004), directed by Jared Hess.

Napoleon Dynamite's older brother Kipling, or Kip, is kind of a total loser. He wants to be a tough cage fighter, but he never hits the gym because he's spending all his time talking to random women on the internet. Kip also runs up quite a bill because he has to pay for his internet use by the minute…even though it's 2004.

And his shut-in lifestyle is really getting on Napoleon's nerves. To fuel his chats with possibly attractive females, he consumes all of the Dynamite family's chips. But Napoleon gets his revenge by playfully slapping him around. Also, how could Kip ever be a cage fighter when he can't even KO a gangly, bespectacled nerd, who happens to have flippin' sweet dance moves?

However, Kip's online activity eventually comes to fruition as he ends up meeting his internet girlfriend, Lafawnduh, in real life. She gives him a super cool makeover, and they end up getting married, complete with the gift of a "wild honeymoon stallion" from Napoleon.

Where you've heard it

This is a go-to excuse for your friend, who is kind of, sort of being anti-social. Hopefully, they find a happy ending like Kip and Lafawnduh and don't get catfished.
