This line is spoken by various characters in both the 1978 and 2004 versions of Battlestar Galactica.

Sometimes when you're attacked by Cylon Raiders, you feel the need to use some swear words. However, said words aren't allowed to be said on the SyFy channel. A substitute must be found quickly before your show gets canceled or, even worse, sent over to Showtime or Cinemax.

Enter frak. The usage of the word "frak" is one of the few things that are similar between the 1978 and the 2004 versions of Battlestar Galactica. The characters in the modern version use it a lot more because the 2000s are that much more stressful than the 70s. For one, the Cylons looked like robots back then, and now they look like humans.
