Here comes the sun. And I say, it's all right.

Context

This line is from the song "Here Comes the Sun" by The Beatles from the album Abbey Road (1969).

This line is the refrain of a song about the end of winter. Warmer days are coming and things are looking up.

Of course, it might also be about a metaphorical movement out of dark times and into happier ones, but singing a song about spring is nice too.

Where you've heard it

Punxsutawney Phil sings this on Groundhog Day whenever he doesn't see his shadow. Nah, just kidding. Groundhogs don't sing. It's The Beatles, the most popular band in history, and it's from one of their more popular albums, Abbey Road. Anything The Beatles ever did is up for pop culture grabs, and this line is no different. It's pretty much everywhere.

Pretentious Factor

If you were to drop this quote at a dinner party, would you get an in-unison "awww" or would everyone roll their eyes and never invite you back? Here it is, on a scale of 1-10.

If you dropped this at a dinner party, everyone would just assume you were going through your Beatles phase. But because everyone has a Beatles phase, they'd forgive you. Plus, it's an upbeat song, and happy thoughts typically don't come off as pretentious.
