Context
This line is written by Luke in Luke 12:34.
Luke's writing about some of the stuff Jesus teaches. This particular teaching basically says that whatever you consider valuable is the thing of the upmost importance to you. So whether you consider your treasure to be your family or friends, or your dolla' dolla' billz, y'all, it shows the world what your heart is really focused on.
Where you've heard it
This one's used a lot to warn people about where they put their priorities—job vs. family, money vs. happiness, etc.
