Setting

University Life

When we meet John, he's at Princeton. Then he moves to MIT…and then, back to Princeton. His career is firmly in the ivory tower of academia: he spends basically his entire adult life on college campuses. That's where he learns to teach, meets his wife, and comes to believe he's gotten mixed up in international intrigue and spy games.

Oh, and we should mention that this all goes down in the 1950s, which means that campus life looks pretty different from what you might expect now. There are lots more dudes than ladies in the classes, the hair and clothing are pretty different, and (apparently) it's acceptable to date your students.

A lot can change in 60+ years, eh?
